Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 26, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Idealride, operated by Daylight Technologies Inc. ("Idealride", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit idealride.ca and read our blog (the "Site"). It applies to visitors of this public marketing website. Use of the Idealride CRM application at app.idealride.ca is governed separately by our Terms of Service. By using the Site, you consent to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us. If you fill out a contact or demo-request form, we collect the details you submit: typically your name, email address, dealership name, and any message you send. You provide this voluntarily.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our servers and third-party tools automatically record standard log data when you visit: your IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, referring pages, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. This data is used in aggregate to understand traffic and improve the Site.
2. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies (such as web beacons) to remember your preferences, measure site performance, and (through advertising partners) to serve and personalize ads. You can disable or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time; note that some parts of the Site may not function as intended if you do.
3. Third-Party Advertising and Measurement
We use third-party advertising and measurement services on this Site. These partners may use information about your visits to this and other websites (but not your name, address, email, or other personal information) to show you ads and to tell us whether our ads worked. We currently use three:
- Google (Google Ads and Google AdSense). Google uses cookies to serve ads on the Site and to measure ad performance. Opt out at Google Ads Settings. See also How Google uses information from sites that use our services.
- Meta (the Meta Pixel, used for Facebook and Instagram ads). The pixel records page views and clicks on our sign-up buttons so we can measure our ads and show them to people who have visited us. Manage your settings at Meta Ad Preferences, and read the Meta Privacy Policy.
- LinkedIn (the LinkedIn Insight Tag). It records page views and sign-up button clicks for the same purpose. Opt out at LinkedIn retargeting opt-out, and read the LinkedIn Privacy Policy.
- You can opt out of many vendors at once at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.com.
About the Idealride application. This policy covers this website. The Idealride application at app.idealride.ca is a separate product, governed by its Terms of Service. Its free plan is ad-supported in two ways. First, sponsored pages may sometimes open in a separate browser window or tab. Second, a third-party advertising script loads when the dashboard page is opened. Once loaded, that script may stay active in the same browser tab, including while other pages of the application are open, until the tab is reloaded or closed. It runs with the same access in the browser as the application itself, so we cannot technically stop it from reading what the application displays or stores in that browser. Any paid add-on (Lead Generation, Accounting & DMS Automation, Market Intelligence or Sales Training) removes all ads, for every user at the dealership. The application's sign-in page carries the Meta Pixel; that page is shown before you log in and holds no customer records.
We do not send, share or sell customer data to advertisers. We do not use customer data to personalize the ads in the application, and we never send, share or sell a dealership's data or the personal information of its customers to Google, Meta, LinkedIn, or any other advertising company.
4. Analytics
We may use analytics services (such as Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the Site. These services set their own cookies and process usage data on our behalf to produce aggregate reports. We do not use this data to identify individual visitors.
5. YouTube API Services
We use YouTube API Services through internal tools that upload our own marketing videos to our own YouTube channel. By interacting with our YouTube content you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Our tools do not access, collect, or store any YouTube user data from visitors to this Site: the only Google account involved is our own, used solely to publish our own videos. Anyone who has granted our tools access to their Google account can revoke it at any time via Google security settings. Because we store no YouTube user data, there is no stored YouTube data to delete; revoking access ends all use.
6. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to operate and improve the Site, respond to enquiries and demo requests, measure content and advertising performance, maintain security, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
7. Sharing of Information
We share information only with service providers who help us run the Site (such as hosting, analytics, and advertising partners), when required by law, or to protect our rights. These providers are permitted to use the information only to perform services for us.
8. Data Retention and Security
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described here or as required by law, and we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. You can also control cookies through your browser and opt out of personalized ads using the links in Section 3. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
10. Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for automotive-industry professionals and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
12. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how your information is handled, contact us at privacy@idealride.ca or through our Contact page.
